Ok, I must confess.
Over the years I have received, made and purchased numerous kitchen towels, pot holders, place-mats, wash cloths, etc. The ones I really love I put in a cabinet or drawer to collect dust and the ones that are liked are placed in the kitchen and used until they wear out.
Sadly, I have all these beautiful kitchen fabrics of sort and really have trouble bringing myself to use and enjoy them; as it was intended.
I was so tempted to store the cloth wipes I made and the BirdE towels that came in, because they looked so cute and felt so soft. You know save them for a perfect day! Grin :) I know crazy thinking.
I am starting down the road to recovery/healing from this compulsive behavior. One step at a time and one item at a time :)
Back when I pulled out the first cloth wipe to use and later the first BirdE towel my husband grabbed; I caught myself cringing. Thinking, "oh-dear" they're not going to be perfect and beautiful anymore", they're going to get dirty. But then I stop and remind myself that this is what I made/purchased them for. If I don't enjoy them then someone else will when I finally decide to get ride of them. I might as well be the one enjoying these wonderful gifts from God and make each day brighter and more fun. I am very happy to report I have been using the cloth wipes and BirdE towels and getting great joy from knowing I am using the things I really love and also helping my home be a safe and eco friendly place.
I encourage you if you have a similar situation; to pull those special things off the shelf and use them. Better you than someone else and they are replaceable. You can not take it with you. At the end of the day; there is only one thing that matters here on earth. The knowledge and love that we will get to be with our Lord and Savior some day soon. Till then striving to share with others this awesome truth.
